I'm going to sell this duo. What color/pattern would you say these are? I was thinking Buff and Blue, but when I searched the results do not look like these 2. They're a about 4 months old. Also, anyone what them? SW Michigan/Michiana :)

Boy, I don't know really. I have about two dozen different colored or types of silkies here and don't have any like these. A couple are a close ringer to be called splashes or mottled. I've never seen a splash or mottled that looks like those.

Do you know what the parents were?

Yep, Archie (black silkie roo)and either black hens, black/white cuckoo or white splash. My previous rooster is also pictured, he passed so not a possible parent, but was grandparent to these.

Now that I see your flock, buff is out, as you need buff to buff to make a buff.

One hen is a cuckoo, and the other hens look black or white, and the closest one is a chocolate?

Your grandpa may have passed his genes on to every one of your chickens.

Another option is just red silkies, expressing black. Red silkies are a little rarer though and I still don't see how your group would make those.

Red pyle is another option that can produce a buff color, but I doubt that too.

I'll quit guessing and let you find out what she says hers are. :)

Definitely not the chocolate. Her eggs were not fertile. Funny that you mentioned red silky because Rufus, the grandpa rooster actually came from a red silky project breeder. And Archie, my current rooster has red leakage and comes from Rufus.

I guess it isn’t super important, just wanted to be accurate in the Craig’s list ad. If I hear back from Steele Farms on color I’ll post it here.

I am trying to just have black silkies except for my splash and cuckoo who are exceptions because they are my mama hens.

Are any of the hens from Rufus too? I ask because that's an awful lot of red to get in all those chicks from one rooster who got it from his dad.
