What color/ pattern??

Hi there out of the Pure Indian runner eggs I ordered, 2 beautiful babies hatched!

It looks like they all were mallard or pencilled pattern, but now one is getting white splotches on her. Maybe pied? But I’ve never seen a pied one before?

I don’t know, what do you think?

None. I've only ever raised the fawn ones and this doesn't seem fawn. It will be interesting to see how it feathers out. The stripe on the back of the head and the little patches on the hips and butt are very unique. Keep us posted!

I know! I’ve only seen fawn runners with the white splotches! So I’m super excited that she’s different looking but I’m really wanting to know what pattern she’d be considered and if there’s more like her!

I don't know. I've just hatched one like that too. I call it Patches. It's a very strange mish mash of color like yours is. It doesn't show very well in this picture but it's breast is almost black where it's dark. It will be interesting to see what it ends up looking like when fully feathered. The parents are fawn/white mom and chocolate dad runner. I'm not sure about the color of the dad though. I was told he was chocolate and then this winter he looked black. Now he's a real pretty chocolate color so IDK. The blue one is a sibling of the dark baby. The 2 fawn/white babies are from someone else's eggs.

By the colour of its bill I'm thinking a Drake and colour cross of Mallard and Buff possibly?

I know that he has no buff in him since the breeder had no buff birds. And I’m fairly sure it’s a girl since she was vent sexed. I’m really curious to what her pattern would be called though?
