OH yes I do, when I first saw Jasper on there the first thing I thought of was Japton yeah I got lost out there one day going the back way to Pettigrew from Huntsville. I had just moved up there from Louisiana, now I live in the sticks down here but Japton is in the middle of nowhere as you prollly know. Anyway when the main road all of the sudden turned into a creek I was all sideways there, I mean in LA we do have bridges, atleast, and you just don't go driving off into creeks and bayous around here either like they do up yonder, needless to say I turned around went back and found huntsville and went to Pettigrew the way i knew how to go, seems like it mighta took a few more, extra adult beverages that day once I got established out to the deer camp that evening. Was telling one of my buds there (local fellow) about my adventure he said "d@mn you were lost weren't you and just laughed
lau.gif
his @$$ off at me he got quite a thrill
gig.gif
out of my WRONG TURN (ever seen the movie?)

Hope that gives you some enjoyment for the day, ha

Ha, yeah that reminds me of one of my favorite sayings of all time George Clooney in 'Oh, Brother where Art Thou' - "wow what a geological oddity, two weeks from everywhere"

Jeff

BTW that movie is supposedly based in Miss. right? I can take you out to Tontitown right to this day and show you every person cast in that movie, swear it on a stack of bibles, right hand up too

If they are hatchery stock, usually the crosses they use are Production Red male over Barred Rock female and sometimes they will use New Hampshire male over Barred Rock females but the first combo is more widely used just because of population of the "pro reds", everybody has some, I think?
hmm.png
I do and just love them
lol.png

Yes the combo of the Delaware male over NH or any red columbian(Pro red, NH, or RIR) female will result in an all white progeny(Delaware patterned) the opposite combo is a red sex-link hybrid which results in white (Del patterned) males and buff/reddish females, usually the females will almost mimic the breeder cock in color.

So red and black produce black. I think if I will completely read tadkerson's link I'll find that, but thanks for the brief and immediate info.

Delaware are actually silver (white). There are different ways of making a white bird. In chickens you can make birds of one phenotype( what the bird looks like) but use different genes.

This bird is white because of the dominant white gene- she only has one dominant white gene and she shows some black.

This bird is a columbian and white because of the silver gene and a gene called columbian.

There are other ways of making white-
