Her mother is a bay roan, out of a sorrel and by a blue roan. Her father is a silver dapple and so was his father. Don't know fathers's mothers color.

I'm guessing silver dapple. She was just a few hours old in the picture.

Update ... She is 4 months old and I guess definate silver dapple! She has grown and changed so much she hardly looks like the same pony.

You could be right on the color. She is absolutely beautiful! Lucky you!

She can't be gray without a gray parent, though.

I'd also guess silver dapple.

How old is your cutie? At first you will see the color around her eyes. I guess it would be blue roan

Thanks All!! She is only 3 days old. I would like if she is a blue roan!! Silver Dapple is okay, but I have 2 already and something different would be great. I call her Star Fish, her mother is Sun Kitty, and Her father is Uncle Markus. I also have Romeo (Markus' nephew) and Moon Doggie.

Not much chance of being gray.

Without any more detailed genetic info, an equal chance (18%) of being silver bay roan, silver bay, bay roan, bay.

Smaller chance (about 6% each) of being silver black roan, silver black, blue roan, black, chestnut roan, chestnut).

The foal sort of looks like it might be 'silver black' (silver dapple). But I've seen such radical changes happen after the initial foal color that I tend to think I'll just wait and see....especially after my friend's smoky blue color foal out of a chestnut mare and by a chestnut stallion, turned into a very definite black with white markings that didn't show at all as a newborn.

Silver dapple is not gray?

Silver dapple is not gray at ALL -- it is one of those things where the chosen terms are not the most um userfriendly but it's way too late to change what people call things

Silver dapple is some variety of liver-chestnut body with platinum-blonde mane and tail. You see old-style non-show-type "backyard" shetland ponies in that color fairly frequently; it is also common in the gaited Mountain Horse breeds.

I'm with wc, I'm not placing any meaningful bets off that foal color and from a statistical standpoint you could have any of hte possibilities mentioned. So I'm sitting this one out and will eagerly await pics next year LOL

Good luck, have fun, cute ponies!,

Pat
