My little Silver Pied is still in with the chicken hen for now... It's a little over 2 1/2 months old, but it's been chilly (one night down to 29F) and the hen gives him someone to cuddle up to. Baby has started pulling on her comb and waddles ('What's that thing? It doesn't look good, let me remove it for you in case it's harmful!') so I want to put her back with her flock, but want to find a buddy for him, preferably a hen in the same age group. The person that I bought mom and dad from has peachicks listed, and it looks like the choices are BS and Bronze. Which would be good to have with a Silver Pied?

If it was me I would get the Bronze all the off spring will be Blue in color, but down the road breeding the siblings together COULD produce some Bronze Pieds or Bronze Silver Pieds this will take lots of time to do. Or you can keep looking and find a White Eye, Pied or Silver Pied for him.

Thank you... I was thinking of the Bronze because peachick is from a Silver Pied hen x a BS cock (would he be dark pied or just split pied? He has white on his throat and a white spot on his belly). I was thinking of trying to get some other colors. While I live on 20 acres, I still have limited space for pens mostly due to the fact that snow drifts in a lot of places in the winter. I have to keep that in mind whenever I build any new pens because I have to be able to get to them in the winter. So step one: convince DH that I need another pea...
