A few weeks ago I acquired 4 new Silkie chicks. My dad got them for me from our local feed store on his way home from work the night of my high school graduation and 19th birthday, I've owned several Silkies in the past, all of which were white, I'm curious to know what color these chicks would be classified as, or what they'd grow up to be.

I know the white will be white, and I assume the black one will most likely be black, what about the grey-ish one? I'll see if I can get a decent picture of the pattern on it's back, and upload them soon

My guess would be partridge.

Yeah, but there's another gene acting in there too because of the marbled pattern on the chicks head.
I think it will be pretty, tho.

I agree....Im just not sure WHAT that other gene might be lol! I also agree it will be a pretty bird! What gene could modify partridge? I'm not a chicken genetic expert by any means!

Looks like it is carrying one dark brown gene. If that is the case you will not get a true partridge bird. It may look partridge because if the silky feathers. It will have something similar to autosomal barring.

It's starting to get some feathers coming in, mostly grey, I'll see if I can get a few more pictures of it, I'm really curious to know what it'll look like when it's finished maturing.

The black chick is starting to get grey feathers along with black ones,
I'm sure they'll all be pretty :)

silver partridge more than likely
