I've got mostly brown egg layers... right now it SHOULD be (if they were laying at 29 weeks!) 1 white, 3 green, and 7 brown.. I'd like to even things out though, and have 4 brown, 3 white, 3 green and 2 dark brown and 2 tinted...
Right now I am mostly getting decent deep reddish brown marans eggs. I also get some beige java eggs, a tan turken egg and some silkie/showgirl eggs and sometimes an F2 cochin egg. Probably twice as many deep reddish brown as all the rest put together. No olive eggers laying right now... snap!
I have mostly bantams which were not bred for egg color. Within the same breed they will lay from white to various shades of brown with a few blue egg layers. My standards are half very dark brown speckled egg layers and half EEs.
