Hello everyone!
So I got some silkies from a local breeder and dont know what color they are? And the last 2 picture are of munch silkie Sugar and I think I see his/her feathers curling back. Am I seeing things :/
They all look a little different. The first chicks name is Rosie
The second chicks name is Cinnamon
And the third chicks name is Sugar.
Thanks a lot for you help!

It looks to me like you have some blue/grey silkies. Possibly splash, but you will have to wait and see to know for sure. I don't think you have a frizzle though.
They are SO adorable!
:love
I know this was posted awile ago but I'm really starting to think that I've got a frizzle! Her/his feathers are curling upwards. I know his sounds weird but I don't really want another frizzle. I have to many already! They are cute though! Just look at this picture.
Also should I be worried? They are all seeming to be fighting with each other!

It is very possible. I definitely see some curls coming in. The chick in my profile picture is an example of a normal feathered silkie-- you can easily tell a difference. I'm sorry. Maybe you could sell him and get another one. The fighting may just be them establishing the pecking order. If it persists though, it may be a problem. Just keep an eye on them and check for peck wounds. Fighting can be caused by not having enough space or boredom.
Good luck,
~Sarah

I currently have a blue silkie chick that had curled feathers just like that one, but they straightened out and it became apparent she wasn't frizzled by the time she was three weeks old. Your baby's primary feathers aren't curling outwards, so I suspect you have the same thing going on with your baby as what mine was doing- just pretending to be frizzled.

I've never seen baby chickens fight in earnest, only play fighting. It's exercise and a bonding practice. They chest bump and fly at eachother, and giddily skitter around their pen.

It's been awhile and the chicks have grown! Out of the 3, 2 are girls and 1 is a boy. The "frizzle" one ended up being regular silkie feathering!:woot IMG_4150.JPG IMG_4149.JPG IMG_4154.JPG IMG_4140.JPG what colors are the last 2 silkies? The first one is a splash but what a about the other 2?

Those are blue colored silkies. Blues have one copy of the black dilution gene, while splash birds have two copies.
