That did not disappoint! Thank you so much. 😆
Whenever I see the @rural mouse chickens pour out of their coop, all I can think of is clown car

Oh a whole wall tank is definitely a dream. I'd have to hit the lottery though.

Now, as it is still technically Pony or in my case Shrimpy Sunday, I can be a enabler.

If you would like your own shrimp, they are perfect for nano tanks, 2.5 gallon. I see some do well with them in 1 gallons, but in my opinion that is just too small.

I can send you links, lots of links for tiny tanks. After all I started out looking for a tiny shrimp only tank for my night stand and then quickly went back to nope, I want my 20 gallon. I can even send you links to some shrimp breeders who may ship to Canada or try to find you sources in Canada.

A small planted tank with about 15 to 20 shrimp so you have a stable breeding colony will not set a person back that much and very easy to care for. The plants help with filtration so it eases the care requirements.

Just saying...

Of course, I get my 20 gallon up and running whose to say eventually I will not have a nano tank on my nightstand dedicated to shrimp only. I do like my shrimpies.

Maybe in the Spring 😉

Right now I am in flux so I am trying not to get too over burdened. As it is I now have that darn tootin cough in the main gang.

Sue and Whiskers are wheezing and coughing and I though I heard Daisy also.

So Sue and Whiskers had a couple CC’s of half strength Tylosin shoved down their gobs along with some Sulphatrim and Tylenol. I have Daisy some Tylosin and Tylenol (no sulphatrim).

I also mixed up a batch of Tylosin water for both Mr P and the main gang’s water. Everyone is now on a course of Tylosin.

:he

I could just kick myself for buying those two chicks. Meanwhile those two are thriving and motoring everywhere.

Pony Sunday!

All of the fish tank pictures make me want to set up another saltwater tank. Well, except for the time commitment & work...lol

It was a fun hobby!

First go around, just fish.

Ummmm I hope you don’t have poisonous spiders or scorpions…?

I would imagine though that the chooks will kill and eat them…? Mine eat spiders here all the time. No scorpion species here so cant
Speak to those.

No idea what type of spider but about 1.5” leg span.

Edit - thinking Cellar Spider
We have them around here. As a kid my family nicknamed them Daddy Long Legs spiders cuz they are all legs w/ a tiny body. Don't know what they're really called but they're fairly harmless.

We never see them outside (probably easy for the hens to catch) but once in a while we find one in the house. The webs are so fine they are barely visible.

So sad that your happy little flock turned on Bridge when Little Mill passed. Do you have any insight as to why? Poor Bridgette!

You, too, have had too many losses - but you do a great job of nursing them!

I hope Minnie Minnie improves:fl:fl

How old are your flock mates now? They must be getting up there...so many worries with the girls as they age, and such relatively short life spans😢
Thank you. I haven’t gotten chicks in quite some time, so the flock has really aged. I am down to five, ages 9.6, 8.5, 8.5, 6.4, 5.2.

Minnie’s crop did not empty overnight, which is a HUGE bummer. Makes it tough to feed her if her crop is already full. It is not impacted nor sour, just slow. Very slow. This happened recently to Flash who went into full crop stasis and died. I assume she had a blockage further down, likely from cancer. I so hope that is not what’s going on with Minnie. I hope I can coax her GI tract along and it’s just temporarily slow due to her anorexia, but we’ll see.

As far as Bridge, do you remember her bum foot? Well, her mobility has only gotten worse and I’ve suspected Flo would want to dethrone her one day. It broke my heart when she was pounced on by a mob. I was in Guatemala on a humanitarian trip in June and my neighbor looking after them had to separate her for me. Thankfully, now she at least has her friend Buttercup in her part of the coop and run with her. But I have to hand carry them up and down from the loft part of the coop each morning and night, and still have not come up with a solution for when I get home after dark. That day is approaching, so I need to figure something out soon. I’m thinking some sort of dog house so they have shelter they don’t have to climb up to and I can still hand carry them upstairs when I get home.

😍 Happy time, yes!

As soon as I sit down anywhere outside I have 6 pairs of chicken eyes staring at me...

I know that well ♥️ I eat my snack I’m the feedroom now.
Otherwise I am harassses by a bunch of chooks thinking they are starving!
