I bolded my symptoms for PTSD:

Symptoms of PTSD fall into three main categories:

1. Repeated "reliving" of the event, which disturbs day-to-day activity

*

Flashback episodes, where the event seems to be happening again and again
*

Recurrent distressing memories of the event
*

Repeated dreams of the event
*

Physical reactions to situations that remind you of the traumatic event

2. Avoidance

*

Emotional "numbing," or feeling as though you don’t care about anything
*

Feelings of detachment
*

Inability to remember important aspects of the trauma
*

Lack of interest in normal activities
*

Less expression of moods
*

Staying away from places, people, or objects that remind you of the event
*

Sense of having no future

3. Arousal

*

Difficulty concentrating
*

Exaggerated response to things that startle you
*

Excess awareness (hypervigilance)
*

Irritability or outbursts of anger
*

Sleeping difficulties

You also might feel a sense of guilt about the event (including "survivor guilt"), and the following symptoms, which are typical of anxiety, stress, and tension:

*

Agitation, or excitability
*

Dizziness
*

Fainting
*

Feeling your heart beat in your chest (palpitations)
*

Fever
*

Headache
*

Paleness

......

All but one. Bingo.

What can we do to help you? Maybe you should only be in Shiva for three days so that you can get some professional help. Sending healing thoughts and peace your way...

This is a good thing, actually - PTSD help is available by phone for all the victims lately. So I should be able to at least speak to a doctor on the phone today.

Thank you, I really do think that's it. It just twigged like a lightbulb when mentioned. Seems so likely it's not even funny. Well, it's not funny to begin with, I guess.

I am not sure what Shiva is but can you see a naturopath or herbalist maybe.

Shiva is the Jewish mourning of the dead. I cannot leave my house, for I am grieving. But, I am able to call the PTSD therapy hotline.

IMHO I think it would be worth talking to a doctor about. Maybe they could just help get you back on track and move on from all this craziness and trauma... Good luck

Eta: sorry just read your above post. Good on them for having a hotline right now! Hopefully they can provide what you need

Sounds like ptsd. I have a 10 yr old nephew with it. Glad there is help a phone call away for you. Sorry things are so rough right now.

I looked it up on google sorry for my ignorance i had never heard of that. I am sorry that you have lost some one close to you. I hope you find something that makes you feel better soon.

Oh baby girl, that is a lot for such a sort period of time. There are different levels of stress disorder; you may have what is called 'critical incident' stress. It deals more with a particular incident rather than the repeated saturation of several incidents. It's more of one step down from PTSD. Whatever it turns out to be, you'll get past it.

Now; here is a little relaxing, healing meditation that you might like. Very good for easing stress and getting you back in balance:

Hope it helps...
