What could be the difference?

Hi. I have these two white baby chicks that are about 4 1/2 weeks old. They’re from the same hatch and parents but the ‘down/feathers’ look very different. They are from parents that are mixed - so I know that could be part of it but I was just wondering if anyone could tell what the difference could be when they are grown in their appearance? Currently, the one chicks feathers (on the right)) looks ‘raggedy’, and the other one (on the left) just looks so smooth and the feathers are very neat. It’s almost hard to tell by the photos, but very prominent in person. The tails are also very different. The one on the left has a full wider tail. Will they look very different when older? Thanks for any help.

I can’t tell much from the pictures but my guess is that they are just feathering in at slightly different speeds.

Looks like one is slow feathered and the other fast feathered

Yes! I kind of thought so too. The one on the left, correct? I was wondering if that had anything to do with the appearance.

Yes!!! That one I think that’s why they look different!!! They are probably growing at different rates because they are a rooster and a hen!

I know i've been out of the chicken world for a minute or 2 but the one one the left definitely looks like a rooster lol They're growing up nicely.
