What could cause undigested seeds from scratch?

Thanks so much, Diana!

I am glad to find the info regarding this disorder, and while I will have to find out who it is, I will also have to determine what the cause is from this list of possibilities- but it's good to know what to look for!!

I'm definitely not happy to find that it's most likely a serious issue.

I'll update when I know more.

Honestly, I must add that I think it's my Luna, who just got over being broody, and who lost a ton of weight during the sitting and raising of her chicks. She's coloring back up and has resumed laying, but is at least a solid pound, possibly two pounds, lighter than she was. I've been concerned and watching, but she seems healthy and vivacious, so I've not panicked.

I will watch closely to find out if she's the one doing this.

They really do sometimes overdo it on the brooding, don't they? It's really scary. She probably threw her whole system off by her intensity and not eating while brooding. There are also often parasite concerns for broodies; I'd really check her on that, boost all of her immunity since you can't yet pinpoint anything.

I'd also consider a one-day gentle digestive tract cleanser of a tiny bit of applesauce in a damp mash with yogurt or another probiotic. The pectin in the applesauce cleanses the gut gently, but the remaining pectin acts as a bit of a pre-biotic for bacteria. Then a week's worth of probiotics helpfully will get her digestive tract in line. Vitamins wouldn't hurt to get her back on track nutritionally. OACV would be nice to get her pH of her digestive tract back, help the good bacteria, etc. (1 teaspoon per gallon of waver.)

Then see if she improves or continues.

All your birds could get this without any ill effects, with only benefits.
