What Could I Build For Around $50-$100? *Turkey Question on pg. 2*

For turkeys, when they are older, I have a dog kennel (not a crate, but a kennel) that I was wondering if I could keep no more than three adult turkeys in. I believe it's 10x10x6 in size. Would that work for my turkeys and I can put some kind of shelter in there for them?

It's possible if you can get items for free or be really creative and use what you have. I'm currently building a coop and today we spent around $58 on hinges, screws, latches and lumber. Around the farm we have plywood, wooden posts, pcv pipe, windows/doors and various pieces of lumber. So unless I don't have enough of my free things my coop will only cost $58.

Hmmm, I'll have to take a better look and see what we have around here. I'm sure I can find things that'll help lower the cost! I appreciate all of your tips and ideas! They help greatly.

That's not too bad at all, especially if you could make their shelter up on stilts so they can still use the space underneath it as outdoor run space too. Unless these are commercial (BB) turkeys you will need a top on the dog kennel so they don't fly out.

What about a clear tarp to protect it from rain pouring directly down? I used to have my kennels tarped for my dogs and I would just use a shovel to get the water off. The sides and back and front of the kennel would still be open, but, is a tarped top a bad idea?

Some 2x6s and a couple cattle panels and a big tarp. You got a hoop house pen and if you dont need it anymore you can dismantle and store until next time.
