What could this animal be?????????????

11:30pm I heard this horrific sound and I mean horrific sound. It sounded like a high pitch scream and it was very eerie. Last year my mom heard it and could not really explain what it sounded like other than a very eerie high pitch scream. No it is not a bird or an owl.
Its the kind of sound that raises the hair on the back of your neck. Were Kinda in the Piedmont area NC

What do think it is?????????????

Hmm, (I live in the same area) It could have been a coyote ( they have very a very eerie sound when they are killing prey) Or a rabbit even,
just a guess.

No thats not it, i am use to those sounds, it was a long scream

our vet told us it could be a bobcat in heat

I was thinking bobcat or a fisher cat. Heard one of those once and will never forget it. It was really eerie!

Could also be a juvenile owl or fox. Recordings of both can be found on internet.

No its not a owl and I heard recordings of foxes and its not a fox.

Its not a rabbit or a coyote, I hear them all the time


Do fisher cats live in NC???

The scream I heard was much longer than a fox scream
