What could we be and curly feathers.

I'm sure you get tired of newbies, but this is the only place that has good advice. I have 3 questions. See photos.
1. What could this hen be? I do understand mixed breeding could have happened. I included a photo of her chicks.
2. The rooster has feathery legs (see photo). Do feathery legs appear on roosters only?
3. One of the hens i got at point of lay has really curly feathers.(photo)

She is also shunned by the others. Another one did too, but hers feathered up properly in a few weeks. I am not sure, but I suspect she is the one laying eggs with very thin shells. In fact I'm not sure how she passes it without it cracking and sometimes they crack in my hand. My chicks free range. They get some laying mash in the morning and have compost access all day. I've had her for about 2 months now.
