I have never seen any kind of study that indicates that DE internally does anything for worms, and plenty of statements that it doesn't.

On the waiting, which I missed, a couple of weeks or so after the Wazine should be fine. The worms themselves are a bit rough on their gut, so I'd be sure they are eating at least something to help with healing. A bit of powdered milk added to the feed should help, though keep in mind they don't make the enzyme to digest milk sugar, so you don't want to give a lot. It may give them a mild diarrhea.

If they happen to have tapeworms, you can tell by little white segments which are visible in the poop, kind of like grains of rice. That requires a different drug or a higher dose of Valbazen.

I can attest that DE does not treat intestinal worms nor prevent them. For a number of years, DE has been in the formulation of feeds that I use. Many feed companies use it in feed and to help keep feed dry in storage. Evidence of cecal worms required treatment in the flock since the use of these feeds. DangerousChickenHouse stated the desire to use a wormer in waterers. The warnings are much the same as other off label, or non-FDA approved wormers for poultry. The same withdrawal time used for Valbazen (Albendazole) is what I would recommend with Wormout.

You are right about powdered milk limits. I've found 1% buttermilk less troubling in regard to diarrhea, likely due to probiotic culture in it. Never could find it in a powdered form that didn't contain high sugar content for baking, so I just use it from the carton enough to moisten feed, giving them enough to eat it up in a few minutes. After worming, I like to use Probios dispersible powder to restore intestinal flora, and Avian Super Pack vitamins in the water.

I've used the Wormout tabs 10 days apart before. The Wormout gel recommendation is 6cc/ml per quart of water, so 24 cc/ml per gallon for 2 days. I suppose if one were concerned about worm eggs, it could be done again 10 days later. Every three months would depend on environment to me, and seems a bit much. I find myself treating twice a year generally prevents infestations in my area. I personally don't like water treatments. But I don't have as big a flock as I used to either.

Your soil conditions dictate how often you should worm. Warm moist soil requires frequent wormings whereas cold or mountainous rocky soil or hot desertlike sandy soil may require maybe once a year wormings or perhaps longer.
Chickens can have worms without seeing them in feces. By the time worms are noticed in feces, that's when people panic and want to worm their birds, but internal damage has already been done. It's best to start a regular worming schedule according to your environment, and rotate wormers.

If they're arnt on soil, no need to worm them.
