I was really hoping to use some leftover horse Paste that I have but it seems so complicated with chickens I tried to do the math for pyrantel in lieu of just doing a dab I wanted to know how many milligrams per kilogram do the math and then figure it out in a small syringe. I posted a few days ago because I wanted to know if chicken's metabolize the same as horses such as if give horse paste to goat off label I use a lot more per pound for a goat than I would a horse because they're different. So anyway I feel like this is getting too complicated and I'm just going to have to throw out my leftover dewormer. What's the best go to if I wanted to use ivermectin for a chicken what is the proper dosage for internal parasites. I will be deworming and working each bird I will not be putting dewormer in the water not knowing what and who got administered what and when. So each bird will be handled individually. if you give a chicken by mouth will it treat external parasites will a bird administered ivermectin under the wing as I've read be treated internally for parasites or would that only be for mites and lice?

Since ivermectin has lost some effectiveness over the years in chickens, I would recommend albendazole cattle and sheep wormer 0.08 ml per pound of weight given orally and then repeated in 10 days. That is about 1/2 ml for a 4-6 pound chicken. Here is where to buy a smaller amount:
https://totaltails.shop/products/albendazole-11-36-liquid-solution/
You can also use SafeGuard Liquid Cattle Wormer or the Equine Paste 0.23 ml per pound given orally for 5 consecutive days.
Either of those has a 14 day egg withdrawal time.
