Good day! I hatched chicken eggs for the first time! This chick was born April 15, 2019. So about 5 weeks old, what kind of chicks did I hatch? Lol! Any idea on the breed & sex? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the info! Does barnyard mix mean it can literally be anything? Or can you see any breed in the chick? What gives Cockerel? Lol I'm still learning!
The comb type being so large for the stated age is why I say cockerel. I could be wrong! :fl

Maybe Silkie, EE, or Wyandotte cross? Doubt Silkie due to skin color, featherless shanks, and toe count. But something with a small cushion, strawberry, or or underdeveloped rose comb. Could even be a cross between crosses! :p

Could make better guesses if we know what breeds we are choosing from. :pop

This is so much fun! When I got the eggs they said they had, "Bardrock, silver lace, windacots and Rhode island reds. "

Yes, a barnyard mix can be anything you have in your barn that mated with the hen. A Cockerel is a rooster. What Breeds do you have in your flock? Any with a cushion comb? It kind of looks like he is going to have a cushion or strawberry comb...his feather pattern looks like my turkey chicks...have any turkeys-lol. He is very striking!
