What did I make?

So I decided to take the plunge and incubate my own eggs instead of waiting for TSC to get chicks. I incubated 12 in my homemade incubator and ended up with 8 hatched chicks.
Now for the actual question. I have 4 barred rock hens and a golden sexlink hen. My roo is suspected to be a poorly bred (due to lack of “fluff”) lavender splash Orpington. He was a markdown chick at tractor supply. So who knows what he actually was since he was listed as a Russian orloff and clearly is not that. But my question is, what would I refer to these chicks as? Is there a particular name for this cross? I’m attaching pictures of my roo and the chicks.

You made black sex links Well, the ones from the barred rock hens. And they'll be blue, not black. But males will be barred and will have hatched with a head spot. Females will be solid and won't have a head spot.

Since you hatched some from the GSL hen, some of the chicks aren't sex linked and you probably won't be able to tell them apart from the female BSL chicks. So as far as sex linking goes, all you can say for sure is that any that are barred and have a head spot are males. Solid ones might be female BSL, or they might be from the GSL hen, in which case you can't tell the gender.

But you can refer to them as either black sex links or mixed breeds. Any from the sexlink hen are just called mixed breeds.

Hatching mutt chicks from your own flock is the best! Hopefully the next time, one of those PBRs will go broody and do it for you.

That picture is so sweet. Mama hens are so sweet with their babies. I never had a PBR go broody and it’s my favorite breed. They have such great personalities. But I digress! Congrats on your successful hatch!
