What did you all do about your dissaproving DH?

I divorced mine - then I got a bunch of chicks!

I say go ahead and get your DS the BR - chances are your DH won't even notice an extra one!

ETA: Considering I'm divorced, I'm probably not the best person to be giving advice!

I don' t have a husband but if I did and he gave me a hard time about something that is important to me, I would just put him through the chipper.

Maybe that's why I don't have a husband.

Ha! That's pretty much my feeling on the matter as well. My boyfriend of seven years supports pretty much everything I want, provided it doesn't hurt anyone, get him in trouble, or cost him money-- or involve cats, as he's allergic. In return, I support pretty much everything he wants with the same provisions.

Why would you want to be with someone who wouldn't do that?

Me personally, I would change the locks, or move, and not tell anyone where I was going .....taking the most important thing with me .........my DS and the chickens.

In China there is a saying, "Women hold up half the sky". If your hopes, dreams and wishes are not respected and honored by those who are supposed to love you.....why bother. Life is too short. But then that's just me.

With my dh I convinced him that our son needed some responsibility, something to teach compassion, something to love and care for all his own... blah blah blah... anyhow he bought it hook line and sinker

Edited to say I have a mean hatching addiction

I hope he changes his view on the whole thing.
My DH just went along with it at first....built the coop, HUGE. Then the HUGE covered run, then we got the chickens, he started to love them just as much as me and the kids.....NOW we have 3 coops with chickens ducks, a small coop for chicks, and a brand new aviary as of last week to accommodate our newest addition- 2 peafowl!!!!
HE IS HOOKED just as much as us!

JUST give him a chance and TRY to encourage his participation, in your new hobby/friends.

I know! Isn't easy to just waste away the hours w/ them? They are actually very calming. I sit down on a 5 gallon bucket and pick one up and when it falls asleep all my stress just melts away. Some nights I'd love to bring one in the house w/ me but I've stopped myself. LOL!

Honey you are an adult right? Not a child bride with no say? Go buy your darn chicken and he'll get over it.

Sorry had to edit for spelling, the idea of a grown woman not being able to spend $2 on a chicken was too much for my circuits.
