What did you do in the garden today?

I bought some black foot daisies and sun dancer daisies today. Not on clearance but I love daisies and sunflowers best. I'm going to keep them pots until Saturday or Sunday when it's a bit cooler. I'm planting them out front near the porch.

Started cleaning out the winter accumulation of DL in the coop. Rainy day today, so not the best day to work on it. I pulled out about 6 WB loads of semi broken down litter. Next not nasty day, I'll continue to work on it, then can spread new leaves and hay which will carry me through until fall. The litter does not completely compost, but, it breaks down quite a bit, and will finish the process as the weather and birds work on it.

Gardening and chickening are a good work out. My abs, lats, quads, back and arms are feeling the burn! Wrist is screaming. Have to work tomorrow... so yet more abuse heaped on this ol' body.

Nothing in the gardens, but did move my girls from the stock tank brooder to a 4x8 area in the basement until I get the coop built. This weekend

How many girls do you have? Bet you they’re super excited! I love watching them when they first go out in the big area in the excitement/nervousness of it all for them. I love it too much

I’m having the same problem. My chickens are ready but the expanded run and coop are not. We don’t usually get snow in March but we got snow in March and even in April. I don’t even understand what’s going on. So it delayed our plans. Sounds like you had to get creative like I did

I have 10, 6 black Austrolorps, and 6 ISA Reds. I was told someone was going to build me a coop back when I picked up the chicks, I haven't heard anything since so I am behind the 8 ball. I am trying to get things worked out. Hope everything works out for you!

Planted some more Georgia mayhaw trees, and tomorrow I hope that I can plant the 2 3-4 feet tall paw paw trees that I ordered off of ebay. I still have 10 thornless blackberry plants that I need to plant.

And, I still haven't planted my garden. I'm such a slacker.
