What did you do in the garden today?

I dug up one spot I had planted pole beans. That one was trying to grow. I have to learn patience.

I will put a few soaked seeds in just in case thw rest arent growing.

A lot of my seeds are old......really old.
I have to remember that messes thing up so planting extra and then thinning later if they sprout.

Come on little seeds! :fl

Old seeds is exactly why I pre-germinated. The wet paper towel in a sandwich baggie method with a 4-8 hr. presoak has been really successful for getting a good germination rate. I also noticed it works better if I plant them just after the root tail comes out, rather than wait for full sprout. I think they get more finicky about transplant once the cotyledon leaves come out.

My mother in law laughs at me. She just throws seeds in dirt, no respect to companion planting or anything, and they grow. She doesn't bother with consulting gardening websites or forums, either. Everyone thinks I'm too fussy about gardening, but I really want to break the curse of black thumb plant death. Lol!

Are you using that stuff on your outdoor garden? Kinda of expensive. I guess if you only have a few?

I use this on outside plants and its not all that expensive in the long run. In the long run I spend less on plants and get way better results using these nutrients than using that cheeply made organic fertilizer at the big box store.
The bottles you see in my post I use at home and cost me around 35 bucks.
On the farm I use the same products but get it in gallon and 2 gallon jugs and we get it wholesale.

--ETA--
Just ran some numbers and the GO Box that I use at home runs me around .45 cents per gallon to use. My tomatoes are 8 weeks old, fed 8 times that's around $3.60 so far and there setting buds heavy on 20 inch plants.
That's around 2.5 inch of growth per week not including the 4 or so inches I barred in the ground.

Ok, maybe I'm just an idiot and can't tell the difference between male and female melon flowers. Ha! I know females are supposed to have a bulbous base, but they all kind of look the same to me. Most of the pics I've seen wer

Yeah we are living off the grid and trying to stay out of all stores as much as possible. I just use compost l make with straw, oak leaves, green grass, and chicken manure.
