What did you do in the garden today?

I planted cherry tomato seed in the garden house. My eggplant has not sprouted yet but gave fresh watering. I also planted basil, cilantro, pumpkin, yellow squash, delicata, cucumber, green beans etc. today in the garden. It’s going to rain tonight. Hope it grows quick.

As is the gardener so is the garden.
Rows of surprises as each shoot rises.

My sugar snap peas are up. Hope they keep growing well. :fl:)
I planted my tomato plants by seed in the house a week or two ago, but don’t plan to put my squash, pumpkin and bean seeds in the garden til probably May 1.

We have little black and orange flutter somethings flitting about.

Cold, in the 50s today. The birds are out, much to their glee.

Went to the market to get tissues. It's the one thing I forgot.

Spanish peanuts are about to break the soil. I put some petunia cuttings in dirt.

I think I'll start some pumpkin/squash tomorrow.

I usually direct plant those and cucumbers, but I think I'm going to need a head start this year. No harm in starting and direct planting if I need to.

Our season is traditionally short I did get stuff in early we have had darn near 3 inches of rain this month only need rain this last winter quite dry said where needed more the fires coming up ? our weather in general has changed so much but call recall as a child here our families gardens where in early March

I put together the new chicken ladder roost yesterday and will install it today after I do a partial clean out of the coop. I wanted to give my hens a couple of days to adjust to that before I put the transition brooder together and introduce them to the babies. My roosters favorite girl is really stressed out as it is with being separated from him. I cut most of the boards for one of my garden beds so that will get put together perhaps today or later this week (when it isn't raining). I did some raking in the backyard and uncovered the hyacinths that came with the house. This weird sort of tropical looking thing is starting to come up again. I will certainly take a picture and post it when it blooms so maybe someone can tell me what it is. The forsythia branches I brought inside are starting to bloom now.

Morning 33 and snowing . Our season is late here . Flowering pears are not blooming yet . They usually bloom around March 21 or a little after .

Sorry, I caught the national weather report a little while ago. I keep heavy, clear plastic sheets on hand to cover anything I planted if there's to be a late freeze. Good luck! You know a month from now we'll be cranking up the AC. LOL!

I'm so antsy, I gambled and won this year. Sunflower, bush beans and nasturtiums coming up. They were still buried in the ground for the last frost.

My project table, tomato sprouts are doing great! They all have to come in tonight though, 35 degree temp drop from 80 and I don't want them stressing. You can see in the "yard" (post flood) where I planted shade perennial bulbs and used an old bird cage to keep the chickens out.
