What did you do in the garden today?

I took a shower does that count was so cold hurt bad joints ticked at the weather change
lost 20 degrees in temp over 1 day did do cat boxes and coops

Our weather did the exact same thing. Poor tomatoes, too big to cover or bring in. 46 last night, 46 tonight, only mid 60s in the day. They'll be ok, I just like to baby them.
Realized today the jalapeno I picked out from the flat of jalapenos is actually a bell pepper. Have to go buy another pepper. Turns out DH wants hot bananas instead, so worked out ok.
Pretty much spent the day yesterday rearranging pots and adding landscape fabric.

Good morning gardeners. I was very pleased this morning even though it was 37F. No snow in sight. It did not rain all day yesterday so I was able to get halfway done on the final raised bed. I put 5 cubic feet in, then I stopped. I have compost to add on top of that but I thought it would be better to wait until that last rain (3/4 inch worth) was over. I may be able to wrap that up later today and start planting tomorrow. I'm delivering plants this morning. The temps are only going to be in the mid 40's today so I don't plan on a lot of outside work. The really exciting thing from yesterday is seeing a pair of Orioles flying around my garden. I hope they make their nest here. Have a great day everyone. Oh, @JenniferDuBay, I've never grown "eating" pumpkins. I think you may be referring to pie pumpkins? They are smaller than the carving pumpkins. Try the Burpee website. A side note on this, if you are making a pumpkin pie using canned pumpkin there is likely more butternut squash in that can than pumpkin. Try butternut squash, it takes up less space than pumpkin. Good luck!

The carving pumpkins were transplanted today. The mystery melons need to go in the ground, as do the cucumbers. I started a second round of zucchini, hopefully it'll be worth it. What do you all plant for eating pumpkins? I've never eaten or grown eating pumpkins, so I'm at a loss.
The best for eating . Golden delicious , Boston Marrow . Cushaw and Dickinson . Dickinson is in the butternut family Moschata group . The one the canning factories plant around here . Golden Delicious was planted by a MN. canning factory. Hubbard group . Had a huge fan following . Now out of business . Some of these will not be in your local seed racks . Private message me if you want seed . Pumpkins are squash so do not get hung up on names . There are 4 major branches in the squash family and something called pumpkin in each branch . The common Pepo group has the Holloween types but not the best tasting for pies .

Eating pumkins arent really pumpkin. But rather several types of squash. I use boston marrow, cushaw, and blue hubbard.

Welcome back to gardening season (for most)! Just what was needed to shake off winter the funk! Planted my prestarted tomatoes and peppers in the garden this weekend along with my cantaloupe zucchini and squash seeds. Already have harvested my two first rounds of spinach and kale will be ready really soon. Bean , cucumber and beet seeds and strawberry and lavender plants I planted a few weeks ago are coming along well.
