What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there. Great lightning shots @WthrLady. Cleaned up the garden beds yesterday then spread crushed eggshells around to hopefully deter the slugs from munching on the greenery. If the groundhog doesn't come back, I should be able to start harvesting romaine leaves in another 4 or 5 days. I thinned the spring onions and the turnips. Only one row of peas is blooming right now. They are in a different bed than the plants that got nibbled by the GH. But they are growing and I'm sure they will do fine. The peonies and roses are blooming nicely now. Outside work is slowing down to the point I can actually get back to painting inside the house. First up is the sunroom ceiling, then the walls. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Fathers Day!
to all the Dads out there. :frow
My Shasta Daisy’s
first flower.
This Hollyhock is just about 8’ tall. I have a wire girdle on it to give the other plants sun & the chickens pluck it like a round salad bar. After it blooms I’ll collect seeds and dig the majority up and transplant them. I can’t wait to see what colors I get. I collected seeds from the old train depot. I never expected the size or the lush foliage. What a difference regular watering makes!
Have a wonderful day y’all :wee

Amazing shots! I bet that was better than the 4th of July.
Fireworks, the big ones, are legal here. You should SEE our 4th of July. LOL.

Actually I can take thousands in a night on a good show.

Going out to finish the grass clipping spreading.

Going to plants cukes where I pulled out some tomatoes that drown.

I need to replace some of the drip irrigation heads. I'm not happy with the drip rates, and will replace with spray heads.

DH spread 200 gallons of alpaca manure on the top field.

I have to spray thistle today too if the winds cooperate. I was at a natural nursery last week and the guy was actually SELLING canada thistle plants. I could have wrung his neck! Scourge of the pasture owner and he's promoting people planting them for the Natural garden.

Fox came around 5 times last night. She reallllly want the squirrel DH put in the trap. But still won't step inside. I'm going to sweeten the deal with some fox scent tonight to make it seem like someone else is trying to snatch her squirrel before she can grab it.

I'm so sick of her.

By now I’d have holes blown in my fence...and my neighbors thinking I finally lost it! It’d drive me insane knowing that predator wants my birds.
*foxes smaller, smarter & prettier coyotes!!*

But you never know when she's going to come around. I can't live out there waiting for her.

She sets off the security cameras when she goes to the traps and snares. They record and wake me up so I know when she's around, but she hears better than I can get the doors open quietly.
