What did you do in the garden today?

If you have a strong disposition google mink vs chickens. They can slip through the tiniest of holes, they are frenzy killers and can take out a whole flock in minutes. They kill brutally everything that moves, and then stash the bodies for later. They're quiet and wary. They can't see for anything, but their sense of smell is unmatched. They hunt any time of day.

They aren't afraid of things 10 times their size.

It's the first one I've seen or captured on camera on top of the hill here. I've seen them in the creek run half mile downhill, but with all the flooding the usually dry creeks and cattle ponds are full, and the rodent population is insane, so it makes sense they're following that.

He actually got caught in one of the smaller fox traps we leave out, since I haven't caught her yet. Which is surprising. I did not give him the chance to figure out how to get out of that.

DS and I were looking for a project for today. Weasel boxes it is.

Garden still struggling. But I saw two tomatoes heading towards orange last night. Wet weather has caught up with the squash patch.
