I think the ingredients could be improved by mail ordering in some HEB branded black pepper and changing that silly 1/2tsp of pepper to something appropriate measured in TBS, but that is just me. I will mention that on every trip to Germany we are required to bring in loads of this pepper for friends and family. We fly in with pepper and out with dill sauces for cucumber ect. Our family has properties in FL, MI and TX and this is the big ask from us here in TX.

Love your photos but it looks so milky white and not nearly smokey grey enough to give me dispepsia as a chile should. I am truly not trying to be hypercritical, just Texan. I am known to eat food that can incapacitate for hours at a time. On the plus side if you are rolling around begging your god to save you you don't get asked to do dishes! :lau IMG_4930.JPG

Good morning gardeners. It's about 145 AM here. I heard something fall over outside and the wind is whistling through the eaves.

There are a few carrots, some curly mustard and peas growing. Only one Echinacea sprout though. Now that the weather is cooling off we have more weeds I need to pull before they get huge.

I moved the chicks into the big coop, they're still learning it's their new home. I hope they get it figured out soon, I have wee ones to move outside. They out number the big girls 2:1 so I have no idea why they run from them when they should be taking over the world instead. I had to put my Silkie terrier down last Friday and then hubs snapped a tendon in his ankle while we were walking the dogs Saturday afternoon. My list of things to do is far too long and I have no idea where I'm going to find the time to do everything plus work full time. I find myself cutting back on sleep to make more time but I'm grumpy without my z's.

Anyway, sorry to ramble. Have a good day all.

We are cold but no snow the funny part is that peeps will not walk on snow like it the devil
Lol - same with our chickens, but it's funny I see pics of other chickens out strolling in the snow like it's nothing. Luckily, we haven't had any snow yet, although it's been pretty cool here, like 20 degrees below normal for about a week or so now. Wish we could have some nice weather before winter comes.
We bought two cords of firewood, and stacked it up on the porch. Fired up the wood stove for the first time the other day. It felt so good cause the house had a real cold chill. We try to keep the house heat as low as possible during the winter, because it's electric and costs a fortune to heat the house that way. We use the wood stove as much as possible and keep the electric heat down to a minimum.

Will probably carve the two largest pumpkins from the garden for Halloween tomorrow, even though we never get any trick-or-treaters out here in the country... I still like jack-o- lanterns and the smell of a candle burning the pumpkin flesh.

Sorry to hear about your hens, Sueby & igorsMistress. :( It's sad to lose them.

The snow is falling. Hallmark Channel is filming Candy Cane lane in the neighboring village. They dumped a BOAT load of money into the village to support it (Hallmark founder is from there). The village used the money to revamp downtown square and now Hallmark has decorated it for Christmas...ALL OUT decorated it. Tonight is filming and just on cue, it's snowing those giant cinematic snowflakes!

The roads are slick and snow covered.

I'm staying in. Windchill is 14 degrees.

I make that white chili with sausage. YUM! OC it's no longer WHITE chili, but still excellent.

No garden or plant projects for the day. I have misplaced a family tree binder. It's driving me insane. I can see it in my brain, but not in the house. ARGH!

Later I'll get to work on warping the loom and get some cooking done. Tacos for dinner.

Chili sounds really good, especially on a cool day like today! Tonight, however, we are having zucchini lasagna. I'm sweating the zuke slices right now, and will make the lasagna later. There's also a winter squash in the nuke softening up for the chickens (I already cooked another one that's cooling off on the counter). When both squashes are ready, I'll cut each into four pieces and offer them to the ladies. Boy, do they love squash, especially the seeds! :drool
