Good morning all. I'll be following your lead on digging up the dahlias @Sueby. This will be my first time doing it so I don't want to screw it up by digging them up too early. I'm going to wait until Thursday at least to wrap my run. I'm thinking about drilling some additional ventilation holes in the coop. My chicken run is pretty sturdy and secure and I've been leaving the pop door open 24 - 7, however, that doesn't add much to ventilation. Yesterday turned out to be fairly nice. I was able to blow out the leaves and dirt from the gutters on the back of the house. The house came with an older version of the gutter helmet, but a large section on the back of the house is wide enough to allow debris to collect. I use an attachment on my leaf blower to do the job so no dangling on ladders. I'm hoping the wind is calmer later so I can start blowing the leaves back into the woods. I plan to bag some for the compost bin, toss some in the chicken run, then cover my herb gardens in leaves. Whatever is left goes back in the woods. I think I need to leave some for the chickens to scratch through. They seem to enjoy that. Sorry about that freeze getting the last of your garden @karenerwin. I got all my stuff in, however there were a few zinnias still blooming that I wanted to grab before sundown the other day. I got side tracked and now they are brown and droopy. Bundle up everyone and have a great day!
