What did you do in the garden today?

That is really cool! Do you use the lumber yourself or sell it? Are the tree(s) from your property?
For myself and off my property . This project is for a privacey fence . I bought the mill 3 years to build a cabin / lake house .

I have to build another bee hive before Spring Swarm season.

I just got a beginner Hive kit for Christmas! I will be keeping you in mind when I have questions!

Today was another dreary day. Not too cold though. 50's I think.
Hubby went to Urgent care, all the Take Care clinics at Walgreens were booked until Monday afternoon. Bronchitis (again), so he is on another round of antibiotics.
Canceled plans for tomorrow and told our New Year's Eve plans people that we were tentative depending on how he feels.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe New year's eve!

Good morning gardeners. At least I think it's morning. The cloud cover is so thick it's still somewhat dark right now. The ice storm has arrived. We just had a hefty round of sleet so my skylights are all glazed over. I'm not sure how long the internet will last due to the antenna / dish getting too much ice. I've filled my oil lamps and made ice for the freezers. Hopefully I won't lose power, but I've done all I can do for now. Your cabin looks awesome @jerryse. Sounds like a lot of nasty viruses and germs floating around. I guess it's a good thing that I'm a little isolated right now and minimizing contact with illnesses. I hope you all are feeling better soon. I remembered to give my compost tumbler a few good turns yesterday. It took a few to mix the compost with the new "food." But it looks good. I guess I'll be working on my garden plans today since outdoor work is not an option. Tending to the chickens is all I'm focusing on today. Fortunately they got to go play in the grass for awhile yesterday so that really helps to calm them for a bit. Take care everyone, get well and have a great day.

OK. I decided just to install a new commode. I figure the old one is 12 years old. The insides looked iffy due to our hard water and iron content (we have a softener, but well water is still a tough bird.)

I figured if I'm doing over the whole bathroom, I may as well do it ALL.

Today I will paint and install the new light fixture.
Tomorrow maybe the new flooring or a trip to town to get the supply lines and the commode and counter top.

Hang in there with the ice storm. We are coated in ice, but it's the wind that continues to howl to 50 mph. But being in open country, there are no trees to worry about. I know the alpacas want to go out and play, and they can if they WANT TO, but they choose not to. I don't blame them. But Wednesday we'll be back to dry and in the 40s.

Good morning gardeners and happy New Year's Eve. Ice storm not completely over yet. We got rounds of snow, sleet and freezing rain several times over. There's about four inches of slushy snow and sleet on the ground. The town didn't touch our road until early yesterday evening. The temperature is still hovering around 32F and with occasional drizzle. I hope it warms up soon because the tree branches are starting to sag. I need to get out the snowblower and clear the driveway and the berm of ice and snow at the end. (It's piled almost 2 feet high). I worked on scraping wallpaper glue off my bathroom walls yesterday. I'm almost done. The worst part is around the light fixture. I'll still have to sand the walls and fill in holes I discovered under the wallpaper. And I thought this little room would be so easy. I did spend some time looking through the seed catalogs yesterday, but I still don't have a complete plan on this year's garden expansion. The squirrels have returned to my yard from wherever they went. I have seen 2 robust looking fellows picking up spilled birdseed. I hope they stick around. Take care everyone and have a great day.
