What did you do in the garden today?

Aloha kakahiaka gardeners!
We are still blessed with fabulously wet weather and some pretty good breezes. Saddle Quarry on the Big Island got 22.20" !!! We got 7.12" here. Temps are back in the 80's though Molokai made it down to 76 degrees yesterday. There is still hope we will get a cooler winter.
I let the girls out this morning to forage for crawly things and play. The gecko's get slow with cooler weather and the girls are happy to be out for the hunt and/or hide under our house. We are raised 3' post and pier and it makes a perfect hideout and social hour with the spiders and such.
I think I will sow a few mini rows of Arugula. Chicken's dug up my green onions from my one uncaged garden box when I locked them out of the yard yesterday... fair enough :hmm.

Picked up truck last eve and things are MUCH better. He could not fix radio and dome is still funky. So today I will look under the hood and hope I have the right fuses laying around for a quick fix. I have my favorite Gabby Pahinui CD stuck in there and well, I miss him and I don't want a new radio either.
@Wee Farmer Sarah your party with friends sounds wonderful and maybe DH and I should plan some more fun. Kids are making another party for him- maybe Wednesday- but... maybe zip lining would be good!! We have talked about making some sandwiches, bringing a good book and riding the bus trans to Kauai's North Shore. Just be a passenger and let the day evolve. Either way, you got me thinking about it.

Well folks, happy Sunday. I hope you all have a great day! Aloha!!

Busy weekend here. Beautiful weather for this time of year as well with middle 60's for highs yesterday and today.

Had to clean off the patio and move furniture as we are preparing for a roof replacement to begin this week on the house. Hoping the weather holds well so we can get it done without hassle. Hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

What a magical weather day. DS needed a ride back into the city as University starts up again tomorrow.

The morning started grey and 12 degrees. By lunch, it was 17 degrees and the fog was rolling in, by 1pm when we drove away you could only see about 100 yards. The ice coated everything and the tall fronds of indian grass and had the sun been out, would have been striking.

All the way into the city, people were pulled off the road scraping ice from windshields for defrosters that either couldn't keep up or the lack of wiper fluid.

You could see where lots of people had slid off the road, and made their way back.

In town, every surface was covered in ice, which caused DS a few extra trips to the car to unload his room.

I decided to go around mid-town and get a few errand done. There were very few cars out and about, for which I am grateful. And most who were out behaved themselves regarding speed, lights, and distance.

While I was in one shop, the snow started. LOL. Even the main freeway was completely covered in snow and ice. It was down to 35 mph and that was as fast as you could move. LOL. (normally 70 is the legal limit)

Snowflakes the size of puppies. My afternoon of errands that should have taken 3 hours took 5. But that's fine.

Nothing related to gardening today at all, except wondering what's up with my violet on the kitchen table.
