What did you do in the garden today?

2 is a good start! My littles haven't gone in the big girl coop either, but I don't blame them, it's a dead end. My hope was that they'd one day follow the big girls in & I wouldn't have to do it. I'll give it 3 weeks before I reassess. Thanks for the info, it's helped me realized that I'm just being too impatient, as usual. :lau

I'm just spoiled with the big girls coop auto door, with the littles I have to do it manually every am & pm. Oh poor me. LOL

Bored home-bound people fell under the spell of the big box garden centers and planted their gardens as plants came in.
The rule here is nothing goes in the ground here (except potato starts, and cold crop) before Mother's Day. PERIOD. June 1st is even better, since nothing will get going until the soil warms up anyway.
We're headed for the low 30s for the next few days like many. All my stuff is still inside except for their little jaunts outside to enjoy some sunshine.

A cold rain is about to fall.

Today the sewing machine will be seeing the first PERSONAL sewing project in 9 weeks. People will have to beg me to make more masks. I did a request yesterday, and it was all I could do to finish the 12 of them. That brings me to 237 masks, and 40 fitted surgical caps.

Left arm is covered in sore bruises. Giant hole in my hand is about 1/4 healed up. Still stings like the dickens. At least the alpaca spit smell is out of my hair. LOL.

Good morning gardeners. No, I didn't sleep in this morning. I got up at the crack of dawn and hit the grocery store senior hours again. I also went to the Job Lots store for some more gardening stuff. I put my bean poles up the other day and they seemed very short, so I bought six footers. I also came up with the brilliant idea to plant more flowers at the edge of the tree line of the wooded area behind my backyard fence. They're my woods, so I can make them pretty and the chickens won't eat them. For this project, I needed more flower seeds. Speaking of new gardeners: my new neighbor who bought the house that was built last summer had a dump truck load of garden soil dumped in her yard the other day. It looks like 6 -7 yards of dirt. I'm not sure where she's going to put it all, but good for her. Then one of my other neighbors has already mowed his grass. Good grief! So I guess after my afternoon nap I'll see if the garden tractor cranks up. Oh, the latest forecast now is for an inch of snow on Saturday morning. AAAAgh! Planting will begin on Sunday I hope. Have a great day everyone.

@Wee Farmer Sarah I just saw next weeks forecast, in the low 30's at night. Grrr, I'm going to wait yet another week. Just like @WthrLady said, nothing grows till the soil warms up so I'm going to do all I can to wait it out. In case I haven't already made it clear, I was born short on patience. :wee
I was born short, period! :lau :lau

Maybe, it does look very similar.
Good morning! That infestation looks easy enough to just clean off with your fingers, go back and forth with hand or finders and make sure you get the eggs. It is not a bag contagious virus (oh gosh, I just cringe saying that...:hmm) just a soft squishy bug but their eggs are hidden with them and you don't want to miss that. *** and then give a H2O wash.
If you have up high or in crevices or a large infestation, a 10% dish soap or simple green and 90% water ratio works great. Spray or spritz in the eve when it is cool and rinse in 30 minutes. That will be enough to choke the bugs out and repeat in 5-7 days. You may get some yellowing of leaves especially if you do not rinse, so be sure to... but don't worry, new leaves will come.
