What did you do in the garden today?

So DP had a master plan for our Rubbermaid 300 gal stock tank. View the finished product:

That looks terrific! Should bring you all plenty of enjoyment in the years to come.

@dikitty, sounds like you have a fabulous garden going already; congrats! I somewhat envy your ability to grow okra. It does not seem to particularly like our Midwestern growing conditions (though this rarely stops me from trying).

The weather did take a turn. Perhaps we are being given double after our extremely mild winter? Much as I whimper about not being able to play in the veggie and flower gardens, the cold almost makes me glad I'm so behind; my starts are just really getting going (I winter sow) and most aren't ready to go into the beds yet. Still, once the temps settle down, I, like most of you, am going to be much happier.

Once we got the greenhouse built, it was all hands on deck for growing! We had a garden last year too; the squash and pumpkins ate the entire bed, the tomatoes were huge, and we had one surviving okra XD Good luck on getting them going! They really like the heat here so we're hoping for a good harvest for pickling later. I'm not a fan of them, actually, but eveyrone else likes okra so we've planted plenty :) I think we're planning on doing pumpkins again this year just so we don't have to buy jack o lanterns anymore >:3 (and I'm sure the chickies will enjoy the extra food!)

Current conditions at 1:30pm. Notice the "feels Like" temp. Yes, it feels very cold. A bit windy, but it is actually HAILING too. Not hard, but as I was bringing in the unhappy starts in off the deck, I was getting pelted by hail. Nearly mid-May in central Ohio - not exactly expected nor typical weather. :he :rant :tongue

Pretty darn clever that DP of yours. It looks pretty terrific and not a bad idea at all. Your little kitties are precious... even the bad one and even the trouble one. Must have been fun getting him down.
He was so proud of himself, he just loves being the naughty boy. I dragged out our big extension ladder and we coaxed him down slowly, then wrapped the end piece of some 4' garden fencing around the post. And yup, DP is smart as heck. She makes leaps of intuition and faith, I plod along slow and steady. We're a good match.

Love the fishy hot tub @NewBoots. You are putting fish in there right? Decorative or table fish? Have a great day everyone.
Yeah, there are 7 or 8 perch in there now. Several for eating, a couple small ones for use as fertilizer and a couple very small ones we plan to leave in there for fun.

Heck of a thunderstorm here last night but just a tiny bit of rain. Hoping for lots more over the next few days. Looks like I need to get my beans more nitrogen and my squash chelated iron to fix their yellowing. Worse than that is I guess it's too cold here to really grow okra. I'll try keeping them in pots in the greenhouse. I'm with you @dikitty, I mainly want them for pickles.

And thanks @NightingaleJen, I'm jealous of @dikitty's mastery of okra too!

I hear you. It was 63F earlier when I drove to TSC. Now after two heavy rain showers it’s 54F. More on and off showers. Cold tonight and tomorrow. Yikes!
