What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. No rain here last night. Too bad, I might have to water the garden again. I've got a load of laundry going already. I've got everything I need to get the chicken run completed, so today is the day to get cracking on that. I have to admit that I took a time out yesterday to rest a little. I let the rooster back in with his ladies yesterday afternoon and I think his hormones have finally settled down. Thank goodness. Clearly he is not happy with me and would not take a blade of grass I offered him. He is a good rooster. When the neighbor's cat came calling in the evening and was scratching at the door, old Randy was making a proper commotion to alert me. I called my neighbor to let them know their cat was loose. I am not a cat person, sorry. Despite the work on the chicken run, I need to carve out a little time to give the garden some attention. Weeds all over and I really need to get the pole beans planted. My favorite is dill on scrambled eggs, yum! Here are my last flower shots: rhododendron and honeysuckle. Have a great day everyone.

Morning everyone! Nice out, that awful humidity has left.

Ugh, I put pinless peepers on my mean girl as a last ditch effort & shes struggling. 2 hours & shes finally walking forward instead of backwards. I hope she can figure it out, I cant re-home her because she is a carrier of that respiratory crap & I refuse to keep her separated, we travel too much. I'd have to get another auto door.

I love dill with cucumbers, and then either a balsamic vinaigrette, or a garlic tzaki type sauce. You? Just my use for dill.
I love it on cukes too! But butter & dill on carrots is what my grandma always made. :love & in chicken soup. I love it on any veggies really. & On a salad.

@Amoore117 Here comes the corn. Sounds like a low budget horror film from the 50s. Bwahahaaaaaa

Picked up a couple of replacement tomatoes for those that might go sickly on me after transplant. Found a roadside market selling flats of veg or flowers for $12 or 4 packs for 1.50.

Picked up some WHITE cherry tomatoes. We shall see. I might have to find a spot for those today.

Also picked up iris rhisomes for 25 cents each. So planting those

Putting a fence around the chicken compost to keep the chickens from re-infesting themselves.
Putting deer repel cubes in the orchard for the fawns. I was slacking in putting up the training stink strips, which are now replaced.

Cleaning up that bike I need to paint.
Walking through the garden.

At Lowe’s for a hose. Figured I’d pick up an extra pack of a seed I had purchased a few days before. No seeds that I could find, so I asked where were the seeds... they already packed them up for the season. And they were not out yet- lots of seeds left and they can’t put them out next year as new seeds. They didn’t even clearance them out!!! Oh well, next store had what I was looking for.

Good morning gardeners. Rolled out of bed at 0500 and let the flock out, then took the pups to the park. After we got home I wet down the floor of the mini coop and turned on the fan, poor birds were looking exhausted last night. I added some dry alfalfa hay to the big coop and cleaned out the nest boxes, someone has been roosting above them at night  The shrubs out front are doing well. This is a red bird of paradise, the flowers remind me of a sunset
