Retroactively added this board and wire to my hay bale garden a few days ago for support. Just noticed how some of the top leaves were missing and fed this villain to my free ranging girls. 20200702_191248.jpg 20200702_191115_HDR.jpg

That's what I did and put them out this spring. I still have a few waiting for me to figure out what I can stuff them. :)

What (nearly) every gardener looks forward to: Tomatoes!!

Some are definitely more productive than the others. We planted around 27 varieties so, it is interesting to see productivity and size and shape of the various kinds!

These are Compari - I bought one plant from the garden store, and it was the first to set fruit (even before the cherry types!) and is coloring up first, as well. These are the type they sell in the clear clamshells on the vine in the store. A smaller size tomato.

Good morning gardeners. Spent a little time adding more dirt to my potato plants yesterday. They are looking good and blooming well. I also hilled a little dirt up around my leeks that survived. They are doing well also. The carrots in that garden bed haven't been discovered by the munching bandit yet. I picked a few more peas this morning and pulled grass out of two of the garden beds. My tomato plants have tripled their size in the past two weeks and nearly all are blooming now. My zucchini is still looking good, however the first yellow squash apparently didn't get pollinated or perhaps couldn't handle all the sudden rain. I ordered Swiss Chard and Curly Kale seeds from Amazon. The chard seeds arrived, but I might wait another week before planting. I still need to finish eating the lettuce before planting more leafy greens. I do have the turnips growing. I really like turnip greens and they freeze easily. The weather is a bit "iffy" today so I don't have any plans in the garden. I need to try to dead head the roses again. I thought I would post two pictures of my tomato plants. One was taken on 14 June and the other today just to show the amount of growth in a little over two weeks. I hope the tomato harvest is good. Have a great day everyone!

June 14 2020 Not much going on.

This morning before I weeded.

And let's not forget the pole beans.

And yes, I need to get the weed whacker out again.

Waiting for the next break in the weather to hay. Probably next week when we are humid and 96 for 4 days. usually the way it works.

I'll wander out to the garden to day and see what's going on. I was out a few days ago to tie up tomatoes. Am not seeing a lot of blossoms, or green fruit. Although I planted far later than most. We'll see. Our ridiculously windy June may have been the culprit. Tomatoes don't like that AT ALL, which is another reason the wind shield went up.
Have a great day all.

I weeded..watered and helped the hubby enclose the garden from our chickens..we have red potatoes..carrots..green and yellow beans..garlic..onions..peas..tomatoes..lettuce..green and red sweet peppers and cucumbers..tried corn but my soil is sandy so it didnt take..busy busy busy with the garden and all the pets 😉 but I love it!!
Aloha and welcome to the garden thread @Kelly Owl ,
Lets us know where you are from by putting it on your profile, also, photos are awesome too. Kind of helps us all out as we are all a work in progress, love seeing what others are doing and how we can all overcome and improve our own personal conditions. Plus, here we love a "show off" and all aspire to be one (depending on the season of course lol)!
