What did you do in the garden today?

Just avoid kids lol
I've been trying for over 30 years. They keep figuring out how to get back in! (Just kidding) But, trying to accomplish any task with kids takes at least 3 times as long!

We don't have a mattress. We have a water bed. lol Thanks
Multi purpose: Aquaponic system all ready to go.

I'm not telling DH our cantaloupe needed our bed so it's now outside.

Yesterday: planted 2 rows of corn, a row of Adirondack Red potatoes, and some spinnach, and the rest of the onion sets.

My hips are paying the price today. But, gotta keep moving forward.

Today I watered what we have planted so far. It is very dry in our area for this time of year. Tomorrow I plan on running drip line down the rows.

I have sunflower sprouts! My first sprouts ever from direct seeds in a garden. If all else fails, the chickens will have something from the garden this year!

I flushed the drip lines and weeded today. Still need to work on the coop so it will be done before we go on vacation for Memorial Day weekend.

.
We over planted our melon patch for just that reason. With watermelon, cantaloupe, spaghetti squash, butternut squash and pumpkins in one patch and a massive volunteer plant that we think is another cantaloupe growing up the fence our hens are going to have plenty to munch on. Oh I'm sure we'll eat one or two ourselves.
