What did you do in the garden today?

Drove to pick up chicks today. 90 miles away!

We were supposed to get some turkey poults, but first hatch date of the year and none of the turkey eggs hatched. So, I'm scheduled to pick some up next month.

6- EE, and 6-BR, and 6- SS

They've been introduced to water and feed, and now are happily sleeping under the heat plate.

I took Penny, the barn cat, out of her wood-stove heated workshop (so, its warm!) to enjoy some sunny and chilly outdoors....She waited patiently for me, then ran back inside.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I'm in southern middle tenn and we're in the midst of our second winter storm. We switched to 90% raised beds last year so our stuff ( except onions ) are in their greenhouse form so all I need to do is water. Growth has been stalled due to the extremely cold air. Definitely ready for spring!!
Welcome to the gardeners thread!

Weeded the berry patch today. Gathered leaf mold. I tried to fill some pots with potting mix but the potting mix was still frozen. Put a new bulb in heat lamp in the greenhouse. Worked on the fence again. I should be able to finish this side in the next day or so then I’ll work the soil. I’m planning on planting Sunday if the weather holds.

Good afternoon gardeners. It’s windy again this afternoon and chilly in the shade. Not too bad in the sun but I’m wearing shorts and T-shirt today. I cleaned the waterers and gave the ducklings a clean pool, then watered the squash. I mixed a batch of seaweed fertilizer to soak the seeds tonight. Last night just got too busy. Will plant them after work tomorrow as our temps are going to warm up a bit. Not much else happening here. Have a great night all.

Last year this time it was so darned dry, now it won't stop raining!! I have IBC totes which I collect rain water in to use on my plants during the dryer / summer months as the garden I intend to eventually have will require a few hundred gallons of water a day easy. I got 10k plus of water now and more rain in site. Oh well Ill be ready come june/ july and they want a lot more water than the 20 minute thunderstorm will provide. When I do the math, it is saving me several hundreds of dollars a year on getting the water out of the tap. Plus no chlorine and gunk in the rainwater.

Aaron
