What did you do in the garden today?

We're getting some sort of break in the weather, and boy! is it welcome! I just harvested some pak choi and yakatta-na (I think). We'll see what happens when I stir-fry them.
Yum! WHat do you put into your stir fry???

I hate flossing-- love a toothpick, they should come into vogue again.

1flewover-- go for it!! Check out the options. WHen I broke a tooth, and a gold cap was put in place, I didnt realize what was left of the tooth would be ground down for the cap to fit. I felt sad to damage the tooth purposely but NOW I love having a functional tooth. So I hope you are a good candidate for dentures as my doc said I will not be.

I'm with you on liking to use a toothpick. Okay, tonight's stir fry was quite slap-dash: leftover chicken cut up, sliced carrots, sliced onion, and the greens. Used some soy sauce and cornstarch and kept it simple. It worked out fine. I recently bought a cast iron wok and love the results. It's an easy way of getting dinner on.

Toothpicks, yes, love them.
Stir fry, yum...

Had a friend come pick up some male zucchini flowers today, for some reason hers, two season in a row, have produced nothing but females, so she takes a few blossoms from me. Whatever works.
Also picked more peas, tons of peas, can't keep up, and this is just the first wave from in the greenhouse... Got the over ripe ones drying for next years seed, every year my greenhouse peas do better in the heat, they adapt very fast. They're close to 6 feet tall this year :D
I love gardening

BTW, loved the tour of your jungle green house. Impressive. I've moved my 8 x8 hoop green house off the garden. It needs to be cleaned up, and re-covered. I'm planning to buy a green house tarp to cover top, put corrugated poly panels on the bottom 2 feet, put plexiglass around doors at front and back. Will be able to use it for sun room for chickens in non-growing season.

Thanks. I love it too.
I should build a little winter coop by one of my greenhouses for a bit of winter foraging, the birds sure loved it in there when there was snow on the ground... maybe just build a year round coop over there, I'm done freeranging chickens, way to many predator losses and the chickens trash my gardens despite have tons of non garden areas to enjoy... :/
Any way a large pen could work near the greenhouses... A devided pen so I can switch between two sides and keep things green (in theory)...

We have been putting our chickens in an old dog kennel and moving it around the field every few weeks. If we wait any longer than that...the "green" starts turning into brown, bare dirt patches...and that is with only six chickens!
Today I weeded the corn field. I planted five, short rows. Some of it came up patchy in a couple of rows so I did some rearranging and now have four rows. Some people around here already have corn on their stalks. Mine seem to be taking their own sweet time. This last batch of rain helped a lot though. ( Too bad it helped the weeds too!) Yesterday I weeded my tomatoes in tires and tied them up again. They have really shot up and are full of green bunches of tomatoes. Tomorrow I need to weed the garden that has beans, zucchini, cushaw, cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes in it. It is going to be a big job so I put it off until last. My body is already protesting from weeding the corn field today. Protesting...loudly...!
