What did you do in the garden today?

How did you like Minnesota scenery, people, and how's the cost of living? 
Is anybody saving seed from the Dragon peppers?
What happened to all the swimming holes? Use to have six to go to when we were kids not one of them accessible anymore. On the bright side my swing shift case hours have changed going in for straight 24 hrs with pay bump. Best part is I can pick up more cleaning jobs work half days make $20.00 an hour. That's what their paying to clean a toilet and chase cob webs.   

I saved some seeds from last year...This year I had a volunteer of the Dragon Chiles but it hasn't set fruit.

Do you think there better then a scotch bonnet? Easy of growing, production, canning / freezing , used in hot sauce.

Started a mess of seeds for the fall garden. I'm trying lots of new stuff that I've not tried growing yet. I'm excited to see what comes up!

Today I'm spreading more wood chips on the garden. Then will follow with an application of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash.

what all do you put nitrogen on?

I use it to side dress the plants, particularly those that have fresh chips near their root system. The bacteria and fungi that are working to compost the fresh chips need nitrogen to do their job, so much is leached from the soil to feed these busy little composters.

I tilled the garden put straw around the tomatoes that we lifted out in the rain and watered so we would not get the seed from the straw we are going to start to plant our fall garden the 15 of July so much rain this spring
