What did you do in the garden today?

I'm guessing that you've got some sort of disease going on, probably a fungus of sorts. Better to yank them and start again. In AP, you don't have the luxury of crop rotation b/c the same water system feeds all of the plants. So, not sure what to do in that case. Brassicas are supposed to be good at combatting fungus in the soil. Next time around, you might try a garlic foliar spray for your beans.

Our green bean plants just up and died over the course of a couple of days. Last week Friday they were looking fine, we even got a few dozen beans from them. Yesterday evening all the leaves and stalks are brown and dead and there are 5 or 6 new little leaves near the base of the dead parts. If I prune it all back will it start making leaves and beans again?

Look carefully on the undersides of the leaves for little spots and webbing....could be spider mites...

I had to water today for the first time this summer, really enjoyed it. Last week I put ten feeder fish in 300 gl rain water tank haven't seen any sign of them since, kinda afraid to hook the pump and hose up.

Has anybody tried pickled pumpkin pickles?
My mother used to make pickled pumkins. Cut into chunks and covered with a sweet and sour vinegar mix, and add whole cloves and cinnamon stick. Loved them. SHe canned them in pints and quarts, so we had plenty to eat over 2 years. So good, yumm.
