What did you do in the garden today?

I've been busy! Still working at the property. Dirt work is done. Seeded and added straw. It was 74° today. No rain in the forecast. Should have had all this work done weeks ago so we could get it watered for free. Pumped 210 gallons with a shitty dc pump from the back of the truck. Need to invest in a higher power pump.

Finished pruning my fruit trees, sprayed. Replaced my clothes washer from the 80s. Not sure I like the new unit. Will probably fix the old one and switch back.

Didn't get seeds started. It'll happen though.

I just keep adding compost & chicken coop residuals to my beds. By March 1 I'll start a couple organic sweet potatoes inside growing eyes to get sprigs to start planting in the grow bags by first or second week of May. Hoping to have all seeds planted by end of first week; especially those with long growing times.

I would love to have a washer from the 80's. You can use bleach on colored clothes and not worry about the color fading. I had a dress that got a ink stain and I took it to a dry cleaner and he told me how to use the bleach to get the stain out.

I should explain my last post. Old school washers can be manipulated to start agitating before the clothing gets put in a little bit at a time. Another trick I have learned is if you have a small child that writes on a wall with permanent marker just get a Mr clean magic eraser and the ink is gone. My all time favorite is my grandma telling me that my youngest daughter had a bladder infection. Do what? How do you know? You place your hand on the baby between the legs, then lay them down, if it gets warm and the baby is screaming, it's a bladder infection. That's insane but I still know that I can pass my information on to others.

Not quite ready for the garden yet, but I'm starting some seeds. Put some apple seeds in a coffee filter and cup carrier before putting them in a plastic bag. I saw some posts way back when, that says they act like little greenhouses. Of course, for whatever reason I decided to put them outside in the sun and totally forgot to bring them back in. Probably not ideal in 30 degree weather. Luckily they are seeds only, so maybe they will still sprout.
