What did you do in the garden today?

Called the vet, tech answered, no surprise.
He suggested we take her to the local emergency animal clinic for blood and xrays, which would be forwarded to him on Tuesday.
We decided against it.
It's 1.25 hours one way, no big deal for us, but a LONG anxious drive for an achy dog.
They would just give her x-rays, bloodwork, and pain pills to get her to Tuesday.
Which is what the vet can do in his own office on Tuesday, and we already have her strong pain meds which used to be for every once in a while, we'll keep her quiet and comfy this holiday weekend and take her to her familiar vet Tuesday, just down the road.

Being a pet parent can SUCK.
Sure does at this time I am so sorry

Nothing in the garden today except a walk around to check on all the cold plants.

I walk around and quite a few of the chickens came over to see what was up.

Robin pic from TODAY - OMG - this one looks HUGE! I tried to see #4, and took several pics, but I'll suppose that the 4th one is underneath the one on top. So much growth and development in a day!

They have grown quite fast huh .. I had a muffin need to go clean coops but cook enough started a fire in the trash burner take the chill off the house
Maybe a silly question, but what is a trash burner? Indoor incinerator? My neighbors burn their trash outside in barrels.... It it's a gorgeous 72 degrees here. Just found some baby San Marzanos and a baby eggplant on my straw bale garden. My gardenia tree is blossoming. Nothing smells better. Well, maybe food.....

A little sugar, spice and everything nice’
Those are great pictures! And it's funny, I can always see my own weeds but I rarely see anyone else's. :)
Mint was the first thing I thought of too and the rabbits might be able to keep it from taking over. Catmint is a good thought too. OH and did you post the video of the shearing of the innocents?

Looks like my ladies but mine would be pointedly looking from me to the door. :) And I love how you have those planters set up against the run.

I haven't let them out yet since I'm not quite done mowing and they are mad keen. It's about time to let the littles start mingling with the big girls but I'll have to try that tomorrow before I let the cats out of the garage/barn. Trouble would probably leave them alone but Nicky would definitely kill the littles. I was putting off processing Glyness for her lack of eggs (nothing since last winter) but there's something wrong with her so I'll do it this weekend. She's getting huge (like a meat bird) and clearly isn't as mobile as she used to be. I don't want her suffering and I'm curious what's going on inside of her.

I got the temporary fence up around the greenhouse deck area so now I'm definitely going to make an extension to the chicken run. Only enough wood used to attach the fencing to the current run, then u-posts and chicken wire with no roof for now (maybe bird netting at a later date).

Grrr, all the info I found online about getting rid of nightshade jumps immediately to "oh just spray it with heavy duty chemicals!" First, can't use those I'm pregnant. Second, can't use those as I prefer a more organic approach to gardening that doesn't involve heavy herbicides.

Blegh, so I'm left needing to wait for DH to get around to it, or gearing up myself and being extremely careful. I'm inclined to do it myself, because the darn things haven't gone to seed yet. Need some of those heavy duty, rubber gloves that come well up the arm first though.

How much to you have to get rid of??
If it's just a couple dig them out and pour vinegar on them. If they pop up again, repeat. It will eventually die.

@NewBoots i took the video, and then spent two hours making a youtube video, then my program complained I had used up all my data and have to pay up or loose my video. Sneaky in my honest opinion.

So I have to re-do it all.

I used to pull it up by the roots when it popped up from time to time at our old place, it came up really easy. And yeah, don't let it go to seed. I have no idea of the risks to pregnant ladies. Congrats too btw. :)

Thanks @WthrLady, that sounds like a real pain in the patootie.
