What did you do in the garden today?

We had a big storm come through last nigh, 3.5 inches of rain & hail that destroyed my garden. :rant My cukes, peppers & tomatoes took a beating. I think I'll have to pull some peppers but the others should recover - hopefully. My rhubarb is torn up! Holy cow.

I don't really drink milk, if I drink it I prefer almond milk. But we have a dairy farm here that delivers some AWESOME milk! Nothing tastes as good as their milk. I use cream in my coffee but find theirs too thick to use, it clogs up the opening on the carton & gets annoying, lol.

So we picked up the half cow yesterday & a couple chickens. The chickens were $5 a lb - that's soo expensive! So we started discussing maybe raising meaties. :yesss:

Today is day 1 of the heat wave - joy. :sick

You have to mix your cream, even after being separated, the fat will still rise to the top of the cream.

SO SO sorry that the garden took a beating.
$5 a POUND?!?!?!?!?!?
(Hiding my 14 pound rooster.)

Heading for a week of 90s here. Not a lot of rain in the forecast beyond pop up afternoon thunderstorms, but still too much of a chance to cut any hay - which I think it is too early to do.

Going out to water this morning and lay eyes on things in garden. I'll toss a fertilizer cartridge on the hose and let fly the food.

Quilt fabric needs to go in the machine and I am resisting the urge to buy an antique Union 36 Rug loom from the lady down the road for $125. MUST NOT....MUST NOT.
Have a great day everyone.

Do it! 🤣

Well, they're supposed to suck. That's how they get the milk out.

Ya, grain and silage milk farms. BTDT.
I can soooo tell the difference in my grass fed cow's milk.
It is an acquired taste.
Unless that’s what you grew up on. Then regular milk is an acquired taste! And store beef too.

Ha! I see what you did there.

I bet it tastes different, can't wait to try some myself. Store milk has always seemed a little... funny to me. Almost like something was missing.

I can't enter the summer fair this year, lol, nothing is mature enough and probably won't be harvesting by the end of the month either. Next year.
There are lots of other things at the summer fair. Baking, fair food, indoor plants.

Good morning gardeners. I’ve been out to water, squirted a couple of ducks with water to stop fighting and cleaned the duck pool. Two of my white ducks are drakes :rant so dinner they will be.Here’s a few pics from this morning. The Arabian lilac

Ducks rummaging through the compost pile. Pardon the mess in the shade garden, it’s in transition right now.
