What did you do in the garden today?

Finally got my first male squash blossom. Hopefully some of today’s squash got pollinated.
My straightneck squash are going crazy. I'm definitely going to have a bumper crop. I am hand pollinating the ones in the hoop house with an electric toothbrush.

I planted my cucumbers and spaghetti squash late this year in an effort to miss the squash bugs. They aren't even close to being ready to bloom yet.

I also noticed that I have aphids on my tomato plants that are IN the hoop house. I'm going to have to get the Neem oil out AFTER (if ever?) it stops raining.

For whatever reason, my zucchini didn't sprout this year. Not sure why....I tried planting from seed on two different occasions. None came up. Maybe bad seeds....

So hot I can't stay out more than five minutes at a time. My body starts yelling at me. Goes something like "Hey! Dummy! Get your butt back in the AC before you pass out."

Bought a wand waterer thing. What are they called properly? Eh. It has a mist setting and that's what I was after ultimately. Seeds are supposed to be delivered today, so I wanted a way to water them without jetting them away. That's all going to have to wait until the evenings though. 100s all week.

Thinking to schedule a compost/garden soil delivery early next week. The bare root raspberries were packaged extremely well and came moist. They're already sprouting a bit, but nothing I could get a clear shot of.

Other than that, just hiding inside doing some odds and ends (cleaned the rv floors) and trying to keep the toddler entertained. He prefers being outside, but he got too much heat already this weekend and I'm not after a repeat performance. 😒

It rained a little here this morning, just long enough to drive me off the fishing dock. :) Came home and let the ladies out, I'll get the littles out after lunch once I'm outside to keep an eye on them. I need to get more beets started, I've found I love them pulled when still small and we can't get enough of the greens. I even add them to the hash I make out of leftover meat and leftover baked potatoes. I wish you guys with the extra rain could send some our way, this fire season looks to be a doozy.

@Elyrian1, I usually water my starting seeds from below when first starting them.

I'll have some I can water from below, but others are going out direct. Like the corn.
