Wow... I have an intact Nigerian buck and a doe. I adopted them from the previous homeowner when we bought our house last year. I have owned a couple of goats in years past but still a relatively inexperienced goat owner. Neither of my goats are completely tame. They will come up and eat out of your hand. They will also allow a slight scratch on the head but you can't touch them anywhere else or they run away. My male goat has never ever tried to mount anyone except his mate. Neither of them have ever headbutted anyone either. I consider myself blessed to have two well-behaved goats who are very personable and generally friendly.![]()
Children need to be protected from farm animals. Even adults need to be careful. I watched a YouTube video where some "homesteading" guy was attacked by his boar hog and it nearly killed him. They butchered the hog while the husband was in the hospital recovering.
