be picking the ripe butternut squash this weekend to cook fresh and possibly freeze some for thanksgiving pie.

I made a butternut squash pie one year. I loved it! DH prefers pumpkin.

We can't drink the well water here. It's got all manner of things in it. So we installed a ridiculously heavy duty RO and additional filtration system that handles all the things. The water that goes in smells like salt and tastes disgusting, the water that comes out tastes like expensive bottled water.

We have a pre-filter, then a water softener and an iron filter, then the RO. Yup, it is the best tasting water.

RO, as in reverse osmosis? You should add minerals back in if that is your only source of water.

It's a multi stage, it remineralizes as well.
