What did you do in the garden today?

I just read that onions help repel pests that bother the cabbage family. So I'm going to try that to see if I can grow better kale. And in with the kale, I'll try broccolini, if I find the seeds.

I have 400 onion sets coming, so I can spread the love around.

Maybe. Last year I planted some onions in with my cabbage and Brussel sprouts. They got shaded out and died. So, give the onions space!

Thank you. Good to know!

My plan was to have the broccolini on the north side of a long raised bed, and the onions on the south side, not to alternate them.

Good morning all. The lilac is supposed to be here today. Looks like I’m going to have to cover some things for a few nights though, ‘it’s going to be chilly. The overnights are for Phoenix, it’s usually a bit colder on the outskirts where we live so could freeze

@igorsMistress & @WthrLady - beautiful work! Thanks for sharing the pics!

I find broccoli rab to be bitter. I'm one of those people who does not like bitter. Of course I'm like the pickiest eater ever!

Waiting for the warm up to get out there...come on warm!

I was going to take down one hoop house in my emergency run, but I think I will wait to see what happens with the outbreak, it would come in handy if I have to lock up chickens.

Thanks Sueby!

This is one time I’m happy I don’t have chickens. I’ve been following the avian influenza info and have no way to lockdown the birds.
