What did you do in the garden today?

YUM! sounds delicious! for me, I find I love a bit of tabasco sauce in any chicken soup (canned or homemade).
This is done in the crockpot. Broth, onion, 1# carrots, and some roma tomatoes, spices, tomato juice, and chicken. It's great! Red sauce soup.

We finally got Precipitation! .92 inches. That's really all we've had since the 15 of December. It came with wall shaking thunder, blinding lighting and 47 mph winds. I'm glad I didn't fertilize the pastures. It was honestly too windy to apply it yesterday anyway.

Baker Creek seeds arrived. Now everything is here. I need to sort out the seeding shed and get ready.

Finally getting a break in bitter cold temps here. No work in the garden planned for today. Short warming trend moving in bringing 60 degrees and rain. My roof has been under an ice cap for months. I would love to see my roof again. The snow should be going away with the warmer temps. As soon as the snow melts from the raised garden beds I’ll be covering a few with hoops and plastic to warm up the soil. My orange tree is developing more blossom buds. Yay!

I'm dissolving into cute goo-goo gagas over here because these chicks are doing the happy, warm, chicky trill.
I so get this. Those happy soft peeps as they settle is for a nap with their bellies full of good food just destroy me. :love
Spicy Chicken soup for supper. I forget how good that is.
Anyway, found a SUPER book at the thrift for a dime in the village - Greenhouse Gardening.
It's from 1985. It has recipes for SOIL in it and a lot of things that are not greenhouse specific-like companion plants, planning locations for winter or spring rotations, support types, adjusting Ph and salts, and figuring out weird problems.
I still have a container of green enchilada chicken soup in the freezer. So good!
My pepperoncini's have sprouted finally! Yay! 😊
that's one kind of pepper I haven't gotten seeds for. But then I use pickled pepperoncinis so seldom. Mostly just in that shredded beef roast recipe.
Daylight savings coming next week! Messes me up every time, feel like I'm jet lagged for a week more. Personally, I disdain the spring clock change. How about you? Chooks could care less.😴
I hate the time change, my fussy OCD side doesn't approve of "fake time". :)
This is what I did do today 4 hatched to a fully zipped in the incubator still
OMG so cute! I swear if I could, I'd have 100 chickens just from wanting chicks!

My girls are doing great, I'm getting 9 to 14 eggs per day and with the days so much longer, they are up and about a lot earlier in the morning. This makes cleaning the poop board a much easier and quicker job. Still pretty cold at night but I got some of the rabbit litter mixed into the beds. The weather can't seem to decide if it wants to be cold and rainy or cold and dry. Amazon lied to me, but they say that the shredder will be here between March 6-9. :fl

Edited to add: @WthrLady, that book sounds great, going to have to see if I can find a copy.

My seedlings are shooting up like rockets. Here are some update pics. The tall ones are looking more leafy some.
