What did you do in the garden today?

My husband thought so too. I asked him if it really was more birds migrating or if he just noticed more because we were concerned about them.
No, it was definitely a good 'go forth and multiply' winter for the snow and Canada geese.
When they turn the lake below me white and you can't keep track of the number of flocks, or the numbers IN the flock, it's a HUGE year. We didn't even have a kill limit on them this year. Just everything shot had to be processed and not just dumped.

You should have seen me trying to explain biosecurity when we (DH & I) had to go into TSC last weekend & what shoes he could & coulda

I use both. I cut the corner seam so that they will lie flat. When they're done for the season, I fold them up and stuff them in the pillow case. They sit on the top shelf in the closet until they're needed again. As my gardens have gotten bigger, so has the pile of sheets! :)

The last few days I have been focusing on getting my compost game going. Trying to figure out hot composting, as I hear that turns around in a few months rather than years. I want to hold off on garden cleanup, but I did clean out one small bed to get volume for the compost pile. So tempted to do more.

I bought a small aerator and did my entire backyard on Sunday. I am really sore, but my clay yard needs the air. Gotta do the front yard Thursday after all the rain.

I have a few seedlings going, and plan on doing a few more this evening. Snapdragons, zinnia, and Rose of Sharon. I am trying to grow Hairy Balls milkweed, but the seeds are germinating.

It's raining steadily this week so I can't do much outside. I suppose I could clean....

I just bought some starts of these beauties.... I REALLY need to stay OFF the plant websites. 😂

Lots of rain here....which is good because we needed it. Many of my trees are coming back to life. Most are at silver tip or green tip stage. :) My dogwoods are in full bloom and raining white petals everywhere. My blueberries even have a few flowers on them now. Speaking of blueberries....I'm pretty sure 6 out of 7 of my blueberry plants died last year. I still don't have the heart to remove them so I've left their dead skeletons in place....hoping I'm wrong and they will surprise me by coming back to life. :( I haven't planted the two new ones I got last month yet. I'm expecting a shipment from Stark Bros next week sometime with some more raspberry & strawberry plants. I have no clue where I will plant the raspberries.... I probably should have thought of that before I ordered. It was an impulse buy....ha ha. As for the strawberries, they are shipping 25 bare root plants. I probably didn't NEED that many.... I do have two tire beds ready for new strawberry plants but I'm not sure I can fit 25 in those beds. Hmm....decisions, decisions.

I also came across this picture of someone's seed storage. It got me thinking... I store mine in a padded envelope or in the refrigerator. How do you store yours? I think I need a better way to store & organize my seeds. Looking for some good ideas.

I have mine in a bin similar to this, stored in a cabinet in my living room. I’ve kept them in the freezer in a zip lock baggie before as well.

Consider adding garden limestone to your clay. Pelletized is my favorite way to go.

Sorry @TJAnonymous, I meant to comment. I keep mine in the fridge in a plastic bin like that, probably quite a bit smaller as I don't do tons of starts here.

@Arelwood where are you located? I have a 3 bin system & it only gets so hot here, it's too cold here to compost through the winter so I pile in a bin for the winter & then start turning it when it thaws (about now) & start a new bin. It composts for the summer & is ready for fall.
