What did you do in the garden today?

I'm going to get the chickens a bucket of weeds for chickie snack today. And start seriously planning where the onions are to be planted. They arrived yesterday, and I have gobs (gobs-gobs) of onion sets to plant!

Some will get planted later, in with the tomatoes, but I still need to figure something out for now. Or soon, anyway, like the next couple of weeks.

How are yall selecting weeds from the yard for your babies given the avian outbreak?
I had been doing that then quit cause I was afraid of bringing that into the coop.
I haven't been letting mine roam free either.

is it possible to ship jars with broth to europe, lol. you don't need clear broth, this I call "pure health". the cow probably was on pasture.
Ha! & yes the cow was calved by long time friends & pasture raised on their farm.

Not much going on in the garden - just waiting for spring. It was 33 this am. I will turn the compost today & that's probably about it.

Good morning gardeners. I was finally able to get some neem oil sprayed onto the peach tree yesterday. It was still windy but I sprayed between the breezes. My San Marzano tomatoes are starting to put out their secondary leaves so I’ll be up potting them later this week hopefully. Rain is forecasted to start tomorrow morning and continue for a few days, so no garden work planned. I may move my fig tree and lavender outside. My priority today is to finish the last section of the split rail fence and set all the posts. I put my hand under the plastic covered bed in the garden yesterday and it was quite toasty. I should be able to plant in that bed next week. I feel so bad for the poultry farms in Iowa. Seems like the bird flu is really devastating their birds. So sad.

Hello. New on the gardening thread.
Yesterday I noticed all my demolished milkweed (from over 30 monarch caterpillars) are making a quick come back. One caterpillar stayed and made it's crysalis under the arm of my Mary statue. Which is just lovely. My gladiolas are peeking up every where, roses are budding, green house is full of tomatos ready to transplant.
But I'm waiting... bc I can't wash my hands if dirty right now. My water heater caught fire. We got a new one, but an unforeseen complication has left us at an impasse until the repairman is back in town. Until then.. I am without water. So glad I filled the ducks pool before all this happened!
