Holy CRAP are those things expensive !! It's a $#% CHEST FREEZER for crying out loud. NO ice maker, NO waterdispenser NO wifi bull..... it's a box with a chiller on it and you want HOW MUCH??? I can buy a damned window ac and freeze the whole garage down for cheaper than that !

We bought our last chest freezer right at the beginning of COVID when trade with China was shut down so there were NO freezers in any stores. But, we happened upon one on FB Marketplace! We ran out the very second we found it & picked it up - didn't even negotiate with the guy because we knew what we had. Maybe try looking for used?

I have a shade/frost cloth that I need to put over my 16'x4' raised bed.
Keep waiting for dollar tree to have HulaHoops but they haven't. Would ½" pvc pipe hold cloth up a d over the plants without draping on em...or is there anything else I could try and use to do this?

I'm not sure how sturdy you're looking for but I have these & like them. They are cheap plastic but have all the connectors & are very versatile so you can make any size or shape you want. Granted, I only use them for a small patch of lettuce so I'm not sure they'd hold up for what you need. I got them a few years ago & use them all the time.

Yeah just got pvc at lowes...paid nearly the same but not quite! Hopefully will be sturdier!

Unfortunately I have a lot of meat, etc in this freezer so don't really have the option of bargain shopping, I'll need to get it somewhere fairly quick. As I am looking around the house, I found out that the little upstairs fridge in the bedroom went out too !! WTF??

I wonder if I took a close lightning hit or something during that storm the other day. I mean, I can see one going out, but TWO within what, a day of each other? yah, something happened. I wonder what all else is going to go T.U. on me here. This never fails, things happen and they all fall right in that range where you don't want to file an insurance claim because you'd not get anything out of it because of the deductable,... except higher insurance premiums the following year

On the good side, I was looking for a chestie kind of thing to store my outside gardening stuff in, chemicals, fertilizers etc. I might move it outside and use it instead. Redneck white trashy? you bet !! but it's behind the fence so, who cares, when I die it'll be the greedy relatives who never talk to you anyways unless they need / want something's problem !!

PEX water tubing from the hardware store. HD or lowes. It's blue red or white 100ft for about 30-50$ half inch is perfect, cuts easily shove them in the ground or over short posts. works a dream.

I tried to buy just a standard refrigerator...no freezer.... the cheapest I could find was $800. Smh....crazy. Since I have a window A/C just sitting in the garage, I could buy the supplies I need to make a walk-in cooler for $800. And I just might.....

TJ that was what I was thinking ! just have an external thermostat on the thing, NOT hard to do! very good insulation. Styrofoam works plenty well, and good ventilation. That is VERY important, many people don't realize how important the air circulation is, but yes, it's very doable for pretty cheap.

I just planted 24 cucumbers (12 slicers and 12 picklers) and 13 more tomatoes in the garden.. hoed and dressed everything and watered it all with a water can.. been going since daylight.. my back is not happy right now.. y’all have a good day..

If you are handy fixing stuff, goto the junk yard, a lot of time people get rid of them, just because they got a new one, or ok it stopped working, but all that really went bad was the clixon, thermal overload or relay on the compressor, a 10 or 20 dollar fix. I know the guys at several of the junk places and they let me poke around and I'll find one like that, hell, you can even grab the parts off another one they got, to fix the one you want, and walk out with it for like 20 dollars or so.

It's worth a try.
